Imagine a skier’s surprise as he was riding the lift and saw three bears dashing across the ski run below him, surrounding by skiers—some oblivious to the bears’ presence. “BEAAAAAARRR!” he yelled at the skiers down below. “Get outta there!’

“That’s what we call a California winter safari ride!” wrote Barclay Weyhrauch in an Instagram post sharing his footage. After Weyhrauch shouted a warning to the skiers below, the bears safely exited the run, and he took a sigh of relief.
The bears were crossing the run at the Northstar ski resort in Truckee, California.
