This Brown Bear’s Fishing Method Is Downright Hilarious (Video)

Explore.org operates a network of trail cameras that allows the world to watch brown bears in Alaska’s Katmai National Park as they catch salmon in Brooks River. It’s a generally peaceful experience, with some exceptions, and one of those exceptions includes when “Scuba Steve” enters the scene. Bear #27, also called “Scuba” or “Scuba Steve,” has a unique fishing method, and, honestly, it’s downright hilarious to watch.

“Some of you are calling him Scuba Steve, and we get that,” jokes Explore.org in a Facebook post sharing footage of Scuba Steve’s shenanigans.

Instead of swiping at the salmon or positioning himself so the salmon leap into his mouth, Scuba Steve lunges at the fish, arms outstretched—belly-flop style. Whatever works, right?
