Trail-cam footage from south Lake Tahoe in California shows a mother black bear and her cub (a yearling) playing together. In fact, it looks like they’re playing hide and seek!
The video comes from Tahoe Toogee, a local trail-cam owner and wild bear advocate. In an Instagram post sharing the trail-cam footage, Toogee wrote: “A sow and her yearling cub enjoying some forest fun time.”

The clip shows the two bears taking turns climbing trees and, at times, appearing to try to startle each other and/or “hide” from the other’s view. It’s adorable to watch the pair interact in such a playful way.
