“And this is why you safety check before going outside in Alaska,” wrote Michelle Hanson in her post sharing a video of an unexpected moose standing outside of her home in Anchorage. Thankfully, Hanson says the moose clearly heard her coming and wasn’t startled, even though its presence startled her.

“Imagine walking out of your home and instantly being face to face with one of these beasts,” wrote Hanson. “With little to no time to react, this could end badly if you have not taken proper measures of checking outside before exiting.”
