Mountain Lion Removes Tranquilizer Dart, Chews and Spits It out

Yesterday morning, locals reported a mountain lion lurking around a residential area in San Dimas, California. Wildlife officials located the animal, which was apparently wounded. They fired at least two tranquilizer darts at the mountain lion, but the animal said “no thanks” to that. Footage from local news shows the mountain lion pulling one of the syringes out of its body with its mouth, then chewing on it and spitting it out.

The darts still worked their magic, though. Once the animal was fully sedated, wildlife officials carried it away. ABC 7 News says officials will evaluate the mountain lion before releasing it back into the wild.
