A 25-year-old man leapt from the Fossil Creek Waterfall into the water and resurfaced as expected, even giving a thumbs up to indicate he was OK, but that was the last time his friends saw him. The Taiwanese man, Wei-Jie Lin, then went back under the water, close to the falls, and did not resurface. News reports suggest Lin dipped back underwater on purpose, and then the power of the water from the falls likely prevented him from coming back up.

Eventually, bystanders pulled the man from the water and performed CPR, but it was too late.”
