Oznur Bell recently recorded a video showing a hippo charging through the water at her group’s safari boat in Botswana, and it went viral. Thankfully, the boat was able to get away from the animal, which didn’t want the tourists anywhere near it . . . clearly.

Hippos are fiercely territorial animals, and they’re most dangerous in the water. They’re known to act aggressively to protect their stretch of a river. Bell called the incident “terrifying,” but she praised the safari guide for staying calm and getting them through the encounter safely.
