A popular video on social media shows the rescue of a snowboarder in Hokkaido, Japan. Strangers, including snowboarder Axel Folkesson, were able to pull the distressed man to safety after he fell into a hole in the snow that was about 10 feet deep.
Folkesson’s helmet-cam video shows several people pulling the man up out of the hole to safety. The man then said in English (with what sounds like a Japanese accent): “You saved my life!”

“Just pulled dude out of a 3m deep hole, he was boot deep in water,” Folkesson wrote in his Instagram post sharing the video.
