Roam Wild Photo Tours recently shared footage of a wild moment in Yellowstone National Park—a bold sandhill crane going up against a grizzly bear. Contrary to what you might think, the crane really held its own.
“One of the wildest moments we’ve witnessed this season in Yellowstone,” wrote Roam Wild Photo Tours in an Instagram post sharing the video. “A fierce red sandhill crane refused to back down when a grizzly got a little too close. With wings spread, the crane stood its ground defending their nest in the background. Size isn’t everything in the wild. Sometimes determination is the strongest defense of all.”

As many people in the comments section point out, this is a small bear, likely a cub. If this were a full-grown grizzly bear, the showdown may have looked a bit different.
