A group of people came upon two rattlesnakes battling with each other on the side of the road near Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California. One person quipped, “I am not getting near that.” Another man started recording. ABC 7 LA shared the man’s video on its social-media platforms, gaining hundreds of thousands of views.

In the footage, two rattlesnakes (presumably males) do some neck wrestling. Each snake makes itself tall and then tries to take the other snake down to the ground. Neither animal strikes at the other, suggesting this is a battle for dominance rather than a duel to the death.
