‘This Trail-Cam Clip Stopped Us in Our Tracks’: See the Footage

“We see a lot of strange stuff on our trailcams, but this clip stopped us in our tracks,” wrote MPG Ranch in an Instagram post sharing footage of two bull elks crossing paths with a trail cam. One of the bull elks is not like the other. One of them is missing part of its leg.

“The cinematic quality of the scene, the hearty appearance of the bull, and the cleanliness of the complete sever just below this bull’s front left knee leaves us totally gobsmacked and wondrously puzzled,” MPG Ranch wrote. “What caused the loss of limb? How long has he been a tripod? That wound appears closed and healed, which would suggest multiple weeks, at minimum. How then does he look so robust and healthy?”
