A Sierra Madre homeowner recently spotted a large black bear enjoying the cool of his backyard pool. The bear swam around, watched the man who was staring through the sliding-glass door, and then walked away. In his viral video of the bear in his pool, the homeowner, David Rechtschaffen, noted that the animal appeared to be wounded.

“I walked over to my glass door, and there he was, chilling in the water,” Rechtschaffen said, according to CBS LA.
Sierra Madre is a city in Los Angeles County, California, near Angeles National Forest. Despite its cinnamon-colored fur, this bear is a black bear, since black bears are the only bear species that currently lives in California.
