Turn your volume up while watching, and you’ll hear the best part of the video—the yipping of several coyotes acting like a “neighborhood alarm system.” It’s as if they’re saying: Beware, the cats are here!

“The coyotes at Camp May woke the whole campground up because three mountain lions were walking through,” wrote the.cougar.king in an Instagram post sharing the footage from Dan Hoffman. “That yipping is the neighborhood alarm system. Coyotes will harass a lion from a safe distance, trying to move it along without getting close enough to become prey themselves. These three barely break stride.”
