“Marshall Canyon Trail was supposed to be a chill hike . . . then the real park ranger showed up,” joked SoCal Outdoor Explorer in an Instagram post of a bear walking toward a hiker on a trail near La Verne, California. The hiker originally posted the video on Reddit and agreed to let the account repost.
In the video, a large cinnamon-colored black bear is walking along a hiking trail, while a male hiker films and walks backward away from the bear. He talks aloud to let the bear know he is there, and the hiker clearly is not comfortable with the situation. According to SoCal Outdoor Explorer, he “absolutely nailed the scream.”
