A wildlife photographer shared an unexpected moment at a safari camp, and thousands of people online became invested in the story. Hanna Wigart recently shared footage of a baby leopard that had fallen off one of the tents. It survived the fall. The adorable baby was calling for its mother, who was nearby, and the humans observed from afar, hoping for the best.

“Having a baby leopard fall off one of the tents was not on my bingo card today!” wrote Wigart in her Instagram post. “Been monitoring the baby from a distance to make sure it’s safe and waiting for the mother to come back. Let’s hope it all ends well!”

After this footage, the leopard kitten’s mother did find and care for her baby, and Wigart posted an update the next day with details:
Sadly, Wigart’s next update isn’t one the online community wanted to hear. A predator ended up attacking the baby during the night.
