Tim Lambert may have a world record at just 7 years old. The young hiker and his parents, Nate and Beckie Lambert, recently hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim in just one day. That’s about 21 miles of hiking with 11,000 feet of elevation change. According to the Lamberts, Tim is the youngest person to hike this trail in a single day. The Utah family is also working on getting him officially recognized as a world record holder.

Nate Lambert shared accomplishment in a Facebook post, saying: “So far, 3 local news agencies have shown interest in interviewing our son Tim about becoming the youngest person ever to complete the 22-mile Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike in a single day. [. . .] And honestly . . . after what we witnessed out there, I completely understand why. Tim is only 7 years old. He hiked for 17 straight hours, crossed brutal heat, massive elevation changes, and somehow kept smiling and leading the way.”
