According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS): “You didn’t just see a lynx. The lynx allowed itself to be seen.” The organization recently posted footage of a rare animal, a Canada lynx, filmed by a visitor to Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. The beautiful animal casually looks at the humans and then walks away like nothing happened.
“RARE WILDLIFE ALERT,” wrote USFWS in an Instagram post sharing the video. “Canada lynx are so rarely spotted that most of us would have better luck seeing a unicorn. The fact that this one woke up, blinked at a passing boat, and then casually Irish-exited into the woods, is iconic.”

USFWS adds that lynx avoid humans and stick to remote places, which is why this video is so special and unique.
