Kristi Warwick Hamilton recently shared a strange moment from her trip to Chile—a massive sea lion bull emerging from a dumpster. At first, it seems like the large animal was struggling to exit the dumpster. Hamilton even noted that it looked like “a giant slug.” But then, it surprised her by lithely lifting itself out.
“POV: you’re casually walking through a fish market in Puerto Montt, Chile . . . and suddenly a giant [sea lion] climbs into a dumpster,” wrote Hamilton in her Instagram post. “I was completely stunned watching how easily it maneuvered itself in and out like it had done this a thousand times before. The fish market workers barely even reacted like this was totally normal. Definitely not something you see every day.”

Even though the locals weren’t surprised by the animal’s behavior, people in Hamilton’s comments section share her sentiments.
“Dude that’s actually insane, dude just lifted like 900lbs like nothing,” wrote one person in the comments section.
“Pretending to struggle then gracefully exiting with power and control. Funny guy,” wrote another.
