The world’s “fattest” parrot species is a rare, flightless bird called a kākāpō, and these endangered animals only live in New Zealand. One kākāpō is reaching thousands of people around the world thanks to a nest cam that’s live-streaming her every move. The famous kākāpō’s name is Rakiura, and she recently became a mom after her egg hatched live.
“Then there were two Kākāpō Cam stars!” wrote New Zealand’s Department of Conservation in an Instagram post sharing the sweet footage of Rakiura and her new chick.

According to the Department of Conservation, there are only 236 kākāpō left in the world. This means Rakiura’s chick is as significant as it is adorable.
