Bottom line
The 2026 Tranquility 19P puts a large lithium system, AWD Sprinter running gear, an indoor wet bath, and a two-person fold-out bed into a van just under 20 feet long.[1] Its strongest case is flexibility. The rear benches leave a social space during the day and become a 73-by-70-inch bed at night. The 6,210-watt-hour lithium battery, 3,000-watt inverter/charger, auxiliary charging alternator, 200-watt solar panel, diesel heat and 30-amp shore connection give buyers several ways to camp without a generator.[1]
The catch is that this much equipment in a 9,050-pound-GVWR van leaves no room for casual assumptions. Thor does not publish an as-built cargo-carrying figure for every 19P in the brochure.[1] Water, passengers, dealer accessories, bikes, food and hitch load all consume the number printed on the delivered vehicle's yellow occupant-and-cargo label. Weigh the actual coach by axle before treating AWD, all-terrain tires or a 5,000-pound receiver as permission to load without doing the math.[1]
Documentation is the other concern. The model-year brochure says 19 feet 8 inches long, 10 feet 6 inches high, 92.3 inches wide and 76 inches high inside.[1] Thor's rolling 19P page, which now represents the 2027 model, says 19 feet 9 inches, 9 feet 10 inches, 6 feet 8 inches wide and 6 feet 3 inches inside.[2][3] Those are not harmless formatting differences. They are evidence that a current web page should not be used as a substitute for a 2026 window sticker, build sheet and physical measurement.
Best fit: a couple who wants a compact AWD diesel van, spends much of the day outside, values a large battery system, and accepts daily bed conversion plus a cassette toilet.[1]
Skip it if: you need a permanently made bed, separate shower, generous indoor storage, published payload for the exact coach, easy rural diesel service, or enough room for two people to move around without coordinating the aisle.[1][10][11]
Official 2026 specifications
The table uses Thor's 2026 brochure, printed May 11, 2025.[1] Thor warns that components and chassis can predate the coach model year, capacities are approximate, and installed equipment can change.[1]

Brochure versus current-page conflicts
Thor's live 19P page is useful for understanding the current product, but it has rolled to the 2027 model year.[2][3] Compared with the archived 2026 brochure, it changes four dimensions:
- length from 19 feet 8 inches to 19 feet 9 inches;
- height with air conditioner from 10 feet 6 inches to 9 feet 10 inches;
- width without mirrors from 92.3 inches to 6 feet 8 inches;
- interior height from 76 inches to 6 feet 3 inches.[1][2]
The current family page also displays a 2027 19P MSRP of $208,460.[3] That is not a 2026 price and should not be relabeled as one. The 2026 brochure does not print MSRP.[1]
Secondary model guides disagree, with RVUSA listing $216,860 and RV Guide listing $212,660 for a 2026 19P.[13][14]
Dealer stickers are configuration-specific: General RV showed $214,865 for stock 321645, while Camping World showed $221,431 for stock 2577395.[5][6]
The responsible conclusion is simple: an official 2026 base MSRP was not available in the retrievable Thor model-year materials used for this review. Get the original Monroney-style motorhome window sticker and buyer's order for the exact coach. Separate base price, factory options, destination, dealer prep, accessories, documentation, tax, title and registration. A claimed discount is meaningless if its starting number includes a different option package.
Floorplan and daily use
Sleeping and seating
The rear lounge is the reason to choose 19P over a fixed-bed layout. Two opposing benches and a removable table create a place to eat or work, then the cushions fold into a 73-by-70-inch bed.[1] Seventy-three inches is only one inch over six feet, so taller sleepers should test the made bed with normal pillows and bedding. The 70-inch width sounds generous, but hinges, wall contours and cushion gaps can affect the usable surface.
Convert it several times before delivery. Check that every panel lies flat, the cushions do not expose hard hinges, and both rear doors remain usable. With the bed down, test the route to the wet bath, sliding door, electrical controls and emergency exits. The best daytime feature becomes nightly labor if bedding has nowhere to go.
Thor says passenger belts are present in selected areas but the brochure does not publish a clear 19P seat-belt count.[1] Inspect each intended travel position for a belt, head restraint and child-restraint provision. A lounge seat is not automatically a suitable travel seat.
Wet bath and water
The 19P carries 19 gallons of fresh water, 20 gallons of gray capacity and a 4.75-gallon cassette.[1] The cassette eliminates a conventional black tank and makes disposal possible at suitable toilets, but it also sets a short service interval. Practice removing and reinstalling it. Inspect the blade seal, vent, level indicator, wheels, handle and exterior hatch.
The wet bath saves floor space because the toilet sits inside the shower. It also means towels, paper and clothing need dry homes. Two RV Insider posts about 2022 19P units report shower or cassette-area leaks, and a long Thor Forums discussion records owner reports involving seals, screen fit, loose panels, cabinet work and charging-system installation.[10][11] These are individual reports about earlier coaches, not a measured defect rate for 2026. They do justify a longer water test than a quick faucet check.
Fill the fresh tank, pressurize with the pump and city connection, heat cold water, run every fixture, and leave the shower flowing long enough to challenge the pan and curtain. Inspect the cassette compartment, refrigerator cabinet, floor penetrations and rear corners with good light and a moisture meter where materials permit.
Kitchen, storage and service access
A portable induction burner preserves counter space and can move to the fold-out exterior table.[1] It also creates a stowage and cord-management job. Ask the seller to demonstrate the burner from shore power and the inverter. Run it while monitoring battery current, voltage and inverter temperature. The microwave and refrigerator should be tested at the same time under a realistic electrical load, not one appliance at a time.
The rear lounge uses space that a garage or fixed bed would otherwise occupy. Pack the van during the showing: chairs, bedding, food, hoses, power cord, leveling aids, clothing, shoes and any pet or bicycle gear. If equipment blocks the aisle or must live on the bed, the layout has not solved storage for your trip.
Service access matters in a dense Class B. Locate the inverter, battery disconnect, charging hardware, transfer switch, breaker panel, 12-volt fuses, water pump, filter, low-point drains, tank valves and diesel heater. If routine inspection requires unloading a cabinet, decide whether you will actually do it on the road.
What owners and an independent renter report
The independent evidence is useful but narrow. RV Insider contains several first-person reports about 2022 Tranquility 19P coaches.[11] Two negative reports describe delivery repairs that did not hold, water intrusion around the shower or cassette area, a lithium bank that did not charge while driving, and appliance trouble.[11] Another review is positive about the design and value relative to a competing adventure van.[11] These accounts concern separate owners, but the sample is self-selected and too small for reliability percentages.
Thor Forums has a multi-page 19P discussion in which owners distinguish the layout they enjoy from workmanship issues they had to correct.[10] Reported items include door-screen alignment, bed hinges, loose trim or panels, cassette access, sealing and auxiliary-alternator installation.[10] Some posters state that their units did not have every problem on the thread.[10] Treat the list as inspection prompts, not proof that a particular 2026 coach is defective.
A separate 2024 Sanctuary 19P renter video documents roughly 1,500 miles of use and shows the closely related Thor/Mercedes layout in operation.[15] The reviewer liked AWD road behavior, counter space and access to outlets, but criticized packaging and tight interior compromises.[15] Sanctuary and Tranquility branding, model years and installed options can differ, so the video cannot establish exact 2026 equipment.
No independent source found for this package establishes 2026 fuel economy, measured payload, battery runtime, braking distance, noise, cold-weather capability or repair frequency. The pattern worth acting on is not "all 19Ps fail." It is that a buyer should prove every system under load and refuse delivery until the written punch list is complete.
MSRP, purchase path and current new asks
Thor's dealer locator and inventory links are the manufacturer purchase path.[3][4] Use them to identify authorized sellers, then request the VIN, coach serial number, chassis year, build date, window sticker, build sheet, cargo label, warranty start date and itemized out-the-door quote.
As noted above, no official 2026 base MSRP was available in Thor's retrievable 2026 brochure or year-specific archived page.[1]
Third-party guides and dealer stickers conflict.[5][13][14]
Do not substitute the official current 2027 MSRP for a 2026 figure.[3]
Current new asking-price sample
These advertised asks were observed October 17, 2026 at 00:25:39 UTC. They are asking prices, not transactions, appraisals or promises of availability.
| Seller / listing | Exact identity | Location | Asking price | Evidence note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Camping World | New 2026 Tranquility 19P, stock 2577395, VIN W1X4NBVY1ST209813 | Murfreesboro, TN | $129,989 | Current inventory aggregate; displayed MSRP $221,431.[6] |
| General RV | New 2026 Tranquility 19P, stock 321645, VIN W1X4NBVY6ST208169 | Birch Run, MI | $152,995 | Indexed result; direct page had rolled to “not found” at retrieval, so confirm before travel.[5] |
A low ad can exclude tax, title, registration, delivery, documentation, dealer accessories or finance conditions. Ask for a signed out-the-door worksheet and the original sticker. Confirm whether mileage is factory delivery, dealer transfer or demonstration use, and whether the chassis or coach warranty clock has started.
Used-market snapshot
The following sample was retrieved October 17, 2026 at 00:25:39 UTC. It spans three marketplaces and three physical units. It is not a market value, sold-price database or condition-adjusted appraisal.
| Marketplace / identity | Year / floorplan | Location | Mileage | Asking price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wilder RV, stock RC346, VIN W1X4EBHY9NP453573 | 2022 Tranquility 19P, 2WD | Port Angeles, WA | 3,000 | $89,995[7] |
| Vanlife Trader, VIN W1X4EBVY3NP497833, listed June 26, 2026 | 2022 Tranquility 19P, 4x4 | Norwich, VT | 6,601 | $89,000[8] |
| La Mesa RV / RecVan, stock DT219039, VIN W1X4NBVY1PT128382 | 2025 Tranquility 19P, AWD | West Sacramento, CA | 7,770 | $119,998[9] |
The three vans are not directly equivalent. The 2022 units use earlier drivetrains and power-system configurations, while the 2025 coach is closer to the 2026 specification.[1][9] Mileage alone says little about idle time, battery health, water damage, tire age, off-pavement use, accident history or warranty status. Do not average the asks into a “fair value.” Compare exact equipment, condition and documented maintenance.
Recall check and coach-year caution
The NHTSA year/make/model API query for 2026 Thor Motor Coach Tranquility returned zero campaigns on October 17, 2026 UTC.[12] A zero-result model query is not a clean bill of health for a specific motorhome. Model naming can vary, the database can change, and the completed vehicle combines a Mercedes-Benz chassis, Thor coach work and third-party appliances.
Run the complete 17-character VIN through NHTSA shortly before purchase. Ask Mercedes-Benz and Thor dealers to check open recalls, service campaigns and completed remedies. Check the Thor coach serial number separately. Save dated results.
The coach model year can differ from the underlying chassis year.[1] Thor says components and chassis may have been manufactured before the designated motorhome year.[1] That can be normal, but it affects parts lookup, recall applicability, warranty administration, insurance and resale. Compare the VIN decode, Mercedes certification label, Thor label, title, registration, sticker, build sheet and warranty paperwork. Resolve any mismatch in writing.
Model-specific pre-purchase checklist
- Confirm the paperwork, coach serial number and build sheet identify a 2026 Thor Motor Coach Tranquility 19P, not a Sanctuary 19P, 19M, 19A, 19PT or another model year.
- Decode the chassis VIN and record the Mercedes-Benz chassis year separately from the Thor coach year.
- Run the exact VIN through NHTSA, Mercedes-Benz and Thor systems. Save the results and verify completed remedies.
- Photograph GVWR, GAWR, tire and occupant-and-cargo labels. Weigh both axles with full fuel, intended water, passengers and normal trip gear.
- Measure overall height at the highest fixed point. Resolve the 2026 brochure's 10-foot-6 figure against the delivered coach and do not rely on the shorter rolling-page number.[1][2]
- Verify exterior width and length against the build sheet and physical coach; the rolling page has changed both figures.[1][2]
- Read the lithium battery, inverter/charger, solar controller and auxiliary-alternator data plates. Match them to the 6,210Wh, 3,000W and 200W brochure claims.[1]
- Test battery charging from shore power, solar and the running engine. Watch voltage, current, fault history and temperature under a heavy inverter load.
- Connect 30-amp shore power. Test transfer, GFCIs, every receptacle, microwave, induction burner, refrigerator, air conditioner, lights and USB ports.
- Inspect auxiliary-alternator belt alignment, brackets, wiring, fusing and clearance. Ask for service history and any charging-system repairs.[10][11]
- Fill and pressurize the water system. Heat water from cold, run every fixture and inspect the pump, wet bath, cassette compartment, refrigerator cabinet, floor penetrations and underside for leaks.
- Remove, empty and reinstall the 4.75-gallon cassette. Inspect blade seal, vent, level indicator, latch, wheels, handle and service door.[1]
- Fill and drain the gray tank. Inspect supports, valves, heat-pad wiring, low-point drains and exposed plumbing. Obtain the exact winterization procedure.
- Convert the opposing benches into the 73-by-70-inch bed. Lie down with bedding in place and test bath and exit access.[1]
- Inspect every cushion, hinge and support for hard spots, loose fasteners or binding. Check that the table has a secure travel position.[10]
- Operate sliding and rear screens repeatedly. Inspect tracks, zipper or magnetic alignment, grommets, seals and storage.[10]
- Extend the power awning fully. Test automatic stop or wind behavior, LED strip, mounting, fabric and manual retraction.
- Open every door, drawer, cabinet, shade, window and roof vent. Road-test for rattles and confirm every travel latch holds.
- Inspect roof seams, air-conditioner gasket, solar penetrations, awning mounts, windows, body openings, rear doors and floor edges for moisture entry.
- Check tire size, load range, date codes and pressures. Inspect wheels, alignment, brakes, steering, suspension, cameras, driver-assistance warnings and stored chassis codes.
- Verify the receiver and 7-pin connector. Calculate towing from actual loaded axle and combined weights; the 5,000-pound receiver is not the whole towing calculation.[1]
- Obtain Mercedes and Thor service records, battery reports, leak repairs, winterization history, warranty claims, accident history, lien release, manuals, keys and remotes.
- Hire an independent RV inspector and a Mercedes-capable technician. Put every correction and promised accessory in writing before acceptance.
Alternatives
The 2026 Thor Sanctuary 19P shares the basic Mercedes/AWD adventure-van idea and rear-lounge format. Compare actual equipment, stickers and price rather than assuming the two badges are identical.
The 2026 Entegra Launch 19Y emphasizes a raised power bed and rear gear garage. It fits buyers who would trade the Tranquility's opposing-bench lounge for easier bicycle or equipment storage.
The 2026 Jayco Terrain 19Y is another AWD Sprinter with a lift bed and gear area. Compare battery architecture, bed access, bath dimensions, payload labels and dealer support.
The 2026 Winnebago Revel 44E has a strong adventure-van identity and a power-lift bed. Its interior priorities and price structure differ, but it belongs on the same test-drive list.
A used 2022-2025 Tranquility 19P can cost much less than a new 2026 example.[7][8][9] Earlier vans may use 2WD or 4x4 instead of the current AWD system and may have different engines, electrical packages, tanks and hitch ratings. Compare by VIN and build sheet, not model name alone.
Method, limitations, image rights and disclosures
This review used Thor's 2026 brochure, rolling current pages and dealer locator.[1][2][4]
Dealer and marketplace listings supplied the price snapshots.[5][7][9]
First-person owner reports, an independent renter video and the NHTSA API supplied the outside-experience and recall evidence.[10][12][15] Market observations were captured October 17, 2026 at 00:25:39 UTC.
RVCamping.info did not contact sellers or inspect any unit. Listings may be stale, duplicated, conditionally priced, sold or missing fees. The owner evidence concerns earlier model years and is self-selected. The renter video covers a related Sanctuary 19P, not the exact 2026 Tranquility. No source in the package supports a 2026 reliability rate, measured fuel economy or universal defect claim.
A search for a real photograph of the exact 2026 Thor Tranquility 19P under an explicit license permitting commercial editorial reuse found no suitable asset. Manufacturer, dealer, marketplace and video images were rejected because public visibility and credit do not establish reuse rights. The lead is an original, non-photorealistic 1600-by-900 buyer-check diagram. It is not an exact exterior or floorplan rendering.
The renter video was not embedded. Its transcript and claims were reviewed, but the subject is a 2024 Sanctuary 19P rather than the exact 2026 Tranquility 19P, and an embed would add more visual similarity than exact-model evidence.[15]
