The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) shared a trail-cam video showing a rare sight—a wild tigress and five cubs. WWF says having five cubs is “exceptionally rare,” and it is a good sign for this species in the region.
“For the first time ever, a tigress and five cubs were filmed by camera traps in China,” wrote WWF in an Instagram post sharing the footage. “Wild tigers typically give birth to one to four cubs, so five cubs are an exceptionally rare occurrence even in regions with abundant prey.”
