Review identity
Manufacturer: Coachmen RV. Model year and floorplan: 2026 Pixel P1.8RB. Class: Class B gas motorhome. Chassis: Ram ProMaster 2500 high-roof van in Coachmen's 2026 brochure, with a 136-inch wheelbase. Review method: desk research only; RVCamping.info did not drive, inspect, weigh, rent, own, buy, sleep in or test a unit.[1]
The P1.8RB is the short Pixel: 17 feet 9 inches long, 80 inches wide and 9 feet 7 inches high. It sleeps two and puts the wet bath behind a sofa/bed rather than asking a 21-foot van to do the job.[1][2]
Verdict and best-fit buyer
The Pixel's strongest case is size. At 17 feet 9 inches, it is easier to place in a driveway, urban parking space or short campground pad than most full-service Class B vans. It still carries a wet bath, 26-gallon fresh and gray tanks, a 2.8-kW gasoline generator, 200 watts of solar and a compact galley.[1]
The decisive gap is weight. Coachmen's 2026 brochure leaves unloaded vehicle weight and cargo carrying capacity as TBD.[1] A buyer cannot infer usable payload from the 8,900-pound GVWR. The yellow label on the exact completed coach and a loaded axle-scale ticket must decide whether two people, water, options and gear fit.
Best fit: a solo traveler or couple who values a genuinely short van, is comfortable converting the sofa to sleep, and will verify payload before buying. Skip it if a permanent bed, four-season plumbing, large battery capacity or proven long-term owner history matters more than parking ease.
Official 2026 specification snapshot
Coachmen lists a 136-inch wheelbase, 8,900-pound GVWR, 12,000-pound GCWR, 4,629-pound front axle rating and 5,291-pound rear axle rating. Tank figures are 26 gallons fresh and 26 gallons gray, with a cassette toilet rather than a fixed black tank.[1]
Standard equipment in the brochure includes three 115Ah AGM batteries totaling 345Ah, a 1,000-watt inverter, 200 watts of solar, the gasoline generator, a Truma gasoline/electric furnace-water heater and a Coleman Mach 10 air conditioner for this floorplan.[1] The optional lithium system changes the electrical design substantially, so the sales order must state which package is installed.
The brochure identifies the chassis as ProMaster 2500, while several dealer pages call listed units ProMaster 3500.[1][5][7] Do not silently choose one. Decode the VIN, photograph the chassis label and ask Coachmen for the build sheet before treating either description as final.
Daily use in a van this short
The rear bath is the layout's useful trick. It keeps the toilet and shower enclosed, but the bathroom consumes the full rear zone. The center sofa has to serve as daytime seating and the nightly bed. Build it during the inspection, then check where bedding lives and whether the refrigerator, side door and bathroom remain usable.
A 26-gallon fresh tank weighs about 216 pounds when full. That number comes from ordinary water weight and matters because Coachmen did not publish approximate CCC in the brochure. Add passengers, dealer accessories, batteries and cargo before deciding how much water to carry. Use the exact labels and a scale rather than a generic online specification.
The standard generator can support travel without hookups, but it brings fuel, noise and maintenance. The lithium option removes the generator according to the 2026 brochure and adds 660Ah of heated lithium, a 3,000-watt inverter/charger and a second alternator.[1] These are different ownership patterns, not a simple trim choice.
Independent evidence and its limits
RVtravel covered the new P1.8RB as a compact van with a full kitchen and wet bath.[3] An independent video walkthrough shows the spatial relationship among the sofa/bed, galley and rear bath.[4] Both are useful for screening the layout. Neither establishes durability, leak rates, winter performance or owner satisfaction over time.
The model is too new for a meaningful long-term exact-floorplan evidence base. We found no mature pool of identifiable P1.8RB owners and no used inventory sample. That absence is a limitation, not evidence that the van has no problems.
New and used price snapshot
PRICE SNAPSHOT: October 24, 2026 at 00:01 UTC. These are asking prices, not sale prices, appraisals or out-the-door totals. General RV displayed $97,995 against a dealer MSRP of $146,529.[5] Fretz RV displayed $99,887 against $142,904.[6] RnR RV displayed $109,990 against $145,836.[7]
Coachmen did not publish one official national MSRP in the retained 2026 brochure; it tells buyers to confirm purchase-material details with a dealer.[1] Dealer MSRP labels vary with options and fees, so compare window stickers and installed equipment before comparing discounts.
No used 2026 Pixel P1.8RB with a numeric asking price was found across the bounded marketplace search. RV Trader's exact trim search showed no used option in the indexed result.[8] The normal three-unit used sample is therefore unavailable. Do not substitute used Nova, Comet or another small ProMaster as if it were the same model.
Inspection route for this floorplan
Start with identity and weight: match the VIN, coach serial, federal label, yellow occupant-and-cargo label and window sticker. Weigh the van travel-ready by axle. Confirm whether the chassis is a ProMaster 2500 or 3500 and whether the coach carries the AGM/generator package or the lithium/no-generator package.
Build the sofa bed and use the wet bath with the door and curtain closed. Test every drain, the cassette removal path, refrigerator ventilation, induction cooking, generator or lithium charging, shore power, alternator charging, solar input, air conditioner and Truma heat. Moisture-meter the roof, windows, awning mounts, bath and rear-door area.
Run the exact VIN through NHTSA immediately before purchase, then ask Coachmen and a Ram service department for open and completed campaigns.[9] A model search is not a substitute for the VIN because upfit and chassis campaigns can be filed under different identities.
Purchase paths, alternatives and limitations
Coachmen's dealer locator and current inventory are the factory purchase paths. The sampled dealer units give real stock numbers and VINs, but availability can change after this snapshot.[5][6][7] Require an itemized written quote with freight, preparation, documentation, tax, registration and dealer-installed accessories separated.
Alternatives include the longer Pixel P2.0M for buyers who need more interior flexibility, the Jayco Comet 18C and Entegra Arc 18C for other short ProMaster layouts, and a used mainstream Class B for buyers who prefer an established owner record. Compare loaded payload and the exact electrical package, not feature counts alone.
No exact 2026 P1.8RB photograph was found in the searched Wikimedia Commons Coachmen category, and no compatible free-use exact-model image license was established.[10] Manufacturer and dealer images, video frames and thumbnails were not reused. The lead is an original, non-photorealistic buyer-check diagram.
