Emily of emilygoeseverywhere_ was hiking solo in Ohio’s Cincinnati Parks when, suddenly, she spotted a handful of baby coyotes. She filmed them from a distance and shared the video to Instagram. The adorable footage is bringing smiles to many people’s faces.
“I was solo hiking on trail in @cincyparks when I saw 3 little baby animals scurry under a bush,” explains Emily in her Instagram caption. “I couldn’t tell what they were so I patiently waited – wondering if they were baby raccoons, or maybe even foxes! Slowly but surely one poked its head out and realized I wasn’t coming over to them – just quietly watching. That’s when I saw not one, not two, but FIVE of them come out to play. After about a minute or so, I realized that they were in fact Coyote pups. I was so excited because I knew this was so special. But then it clicked that I should probably get going . . . I didn’t know where their Mama was. I can only assume she was watching me to make sure I did not come close.”

Emily also notes that coyotes are misunderstood animals, and hikers should be sure to give baby animals space and stay on the trail while observing them, like she did. She adds that she’s not sharing the location of the pups on purpose.
