Missing Dirt Biker Found Dead in Remote Area of California Desert

This morning, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that search crews found a dirt biker dead after she went missing in the Mojave Desert last Friday. 63-year-old Julie Goforth from Long Beach, California, was riding with a friend in the El Mirage OHV Recreation Area when she turned back. After that separation, no one could find Goforth, and her family offered a reward for any information about her whereabouts.

Sadly, search crews found Goforth deceased and issued the following update on Facebook:
“The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is saddened to confirm that Julie Goforth has been located deceased in a remote desert area on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at about 12:27 p.m.”
Officials are still investigating the death.
